Fim de ano chegando e muitas pessoas procurando algum destino para viajar nas férias. Nada melhor do que conhecer as maravilhas do nordeste brasileiro, nada melhor do que conhecer a Paraíba, nada melhor que João Pessoa. Confira:
Volta e meia, João Pessoa é apresentada como o último pedaço do Nordeste a ser descoberto. Em parte, é verdade: a Paraíba ainda é bem menos conhecida do que deveria. Mas seus descobridores tornam-se fãs – e não param de retornar.
Uma das cidades mais antigas do Brasil, João Pessoa nasceu longe do mar, à beira do rio Sanhauá. Os bairros da orla são recentes e obedecem a um inteligente plano diretor, que limita a altura dos prédios das quadras próximas ao mar. Uma reserva de Mata Atlântica em plena área urbana, a Mata do Buraquinho, proporciona um excelente índice de área verde por habitante. É muito fácil se movimentar pela beira-mar – e sair à descoberta de novos segredos, tanto ao norte quanto ao sul da capital.
O que fazer?
O centro histórico é surpreendente. O conjunto do Convento e Igreja de São Francisco continuaria impressionante mesmo em Olinda ou Ouro Preto.
Bugueiros fazem tours às praias. Para curtir com calma, porém, alugue um carro. Na direção norte, Bessa tem algumas das barracas de praia preferidas dos pessoenses. Intermares, já em Cabedelo, atrai surfistas. Poço e Camboinhas são pontos de embarque à ilha de Areia Vermelha, que emerge vinte dias por mês(foto ao lado). Ao sul, a praia nudista Tambaba é a mais famosa do mundo, mas Carapibus e Tabatinga são igualmente lindas.
Às 16h30, esteja a postos na praia fluvial do Jacaré para assistir ao pôr do sol ao som do Bolero de Ravel. Depois experimente a ceia nordestina do restaurante Mangai. A vida noturna de João Pessoa também é agitada, as baladas chegam a ser melhores que a de Recife e mais conhecidas que as de Natal. Para quem curte algo mais calmo, no Caiçara Shopping tem música ao vivo, e em cada dia um ritmo diferente (forró, chorinho, bolero,samba etc). A também quem prefira caminhar pelo calçadão da orla, e tomar uma boa água de cocô.
Onde ficar?
A maior concentração de hotéis de João Pessoa está no comecinho da orla de Cabo Branco. Pudera: dali pode-se ir a pé ao centrinho de Tambaú, que é o coração turístico da cidade – com bares, restaurantes, barracas de tapioca, centro de artesanato, ponto de bugueiros e o embarque à piscina natural do Picãozinho.
Manaíra, o primeiro bairro passando Tambaú, é o centro comercial elegante da cidade., é lá que encontra-se o maior shopping do nordeste. Quem se hospeda por ali está mais perto de bistrôs, restaurantes e bares em que os pessoenses serão sempre maioria.
A grande novidade são os novos hotéis que vêm aparecendo no litoral sul, em especial na praia de Carapibus, a 25 km da orla central. Dá para curtir as praias mais bonitas do estado e visitar João Pessoa sempre que quiser.
Quando ir?
A época mais seca vai de setembro a março. Mas o sol não deixa de dar as caras no inverno. O mar fica mais bonito no altíssimo verão, a partir de dezembro, quando ganha lindas tonalidades de verde e azul.
Devido à ótima relação custo x benefício de sua hotelaria, João Pessoa é destino bastante recomendável para o Réveillon. O pré-carnaval também é animado, com blocos de rua nos dois fins de semana que antecedem a festa.
Em qualquer época do ano, prepare-se para acordar cedo: o sol nasce antes das 5 da manhã, e às 8 já está praticamente a pino. No começo da tarde, coqueiros e falésias já oferecem uma bem-vinda sombra aos banhistas.
Como chegar?
